The Steenberg Wine Farm is the Cape’s first farm, established in 1682 and has come a long way from its humble beginnings. Upon departure, at the V&A Waterfront, the Cape Town Helicopters pilot will embark on a scenic flight via Hout Bay en route to the Steenberg Wine Farm. Steenberg is a haven of tranquillity steeped in heritage just outside the bustling heart of Cape Town.

Located in the idyllic cool-climate Constantia Valley, the Steenberg Wine Farm produces some of the finest Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Cap Classique in South Africa, along with other celebrated wines. The Steenberg Wine Farm in Constantia offers guests a selection of wine tasting experiences, with a Wine Tasting Bar, Tasting Lounge and Outdoor Terrace to choose from.

It is Steenberg’s distinctive terroir which inspires wines with a strong sense of place, and which encapsulates the heritage of Steenberg.

Enjoy food bursting with flavour, while sipping on a glass of distinctive Steenberg wines at the award-winning Bistro Sixteen82, an innovative and interactive wine and food destination. Bistro Sixteen82 sits adjacent to Steenberg’s winery and wine tasting room, and spills into its surrounding indigenous gardens with a terraced dining area leading to reflective water features, unfurling into views of the magnificent stone mountains and expansive winelands.

Alternatively, guests can indulge in refined dining in a serene setting, or savour a glass of Steenberg wine on the infamous Tryn restaurant’s sun-dappled terraces with vineyard and garden views.

Important Information

Check In Time

Please check in 20-30 minutes minutes prior to your scheduled Take Off time. This will allow enough time for us to take weights, conduct a safety briefing and issue tickets. After this has been conducted you can relax on the viewing deck and take some great pre-flight pictures and enjoy the atmosphere.

Best Pictures

For the best pictures we recommend that you wear darker coloured clothing as whites reflect off the inside of the windows and can spoil that epic shot.

Seating

Please be aware that seating allocation on all our sharing flights are done according to weight and balance which is done during your safety briefing and ticketing. Should you want to choose your own seats you can book an Exclusive Flight at the cost of one additional seat and you are guaranteed the ‘best seats in the house.

Weather

All flights are weather dependent. Should the conditions not be ideal for flying we will try to reschedule to the next best available flight window. Note that the temperature in the sky is exactly the same as on the ground in case you are wondering what to wear.
