This is the only Open Door Photographic Flight offered in Cape Town. It’s a private flight suitable for 2-3 passengers. The doors of the helicopter are open so no reflections = great photos. You'll be strapped in securely into a helicopter—with your door removed — a unique opportunity to have unobstructed views of incredible Cape Town to photograph from the air! No legs, arms or heads are allowed outside of the helicopter during the flight. No loose shoes, articles, caps or sunglasses to be worn during the flight. We suggest wearing closed shoes, no changing of lenses in flight and no loose straps (it needs to be attached to the guest). Cellphones are allowed but need to be strapped to the guest (neck strap or arm strap). If any loss is incurred Cape Town Helicopters reserves the right to not accept responsibility for this loss. Guests need to arrive 45 minutes prior to the flight for briefing.
Meet at Cape Town Helicopters reception. Safety video is shown and passenger tickets are signed. Passengers sit on the left-hand side of the helicopter for the best views of Cape Town for all. Open Door Helicopter safety officer will join your flight to ensure safety, discuss key locations & assist you with your photography and gear.
+/- 30-minute flight. Flight levels vary with some low-level flying and high-altitude flying to obtain a varied overview of Cape Town.
This experience finishes with some snacks & a debrief of the experience once landed safely on the ground.
No Photographic experience required.
