Groot Constantia

Groot Constantia Wine Estate is situated on the aesthetic Cape Peninsula overlooking False Bay. Upon departure, at the V&A Waterfront, the Cape Town Helicopters pilot will embark on a scenic flight via Hout Bay en route to Groot Constantia wine estate. The vineyards are tucked in the steep valley on the eastern side of Table Mountain. The wine estate is an important part of World Wine Heritage and a world-class international tourism destination.

Upon your visit to Groot Constantia, you will experience a unique cultural, social and historical experience. The wine farm offers world-class, quality wines, sensory encounters, and special experiences.

Journey into the estate’s rich history when visiting the estate’s Wine & Gift shop, select from the wide array of contemporary products by some of South Africa’s most loved designers, inspired by a myriad tales unique to Groot Constantia. Enjoy chocolate and wine tasting or choose from one of the two top-notch restaurants Simons and Jonkershuis restaurant for a great wine-pairing and culinary experience.

The Winelands Cape Town Helicopters flight package:

The Groot Constantia Cape Town Helicopters flight package includes a private helicopter flight to and from Groot Constantia and a half-day experience at the estate to enjoy wine tasting and or pairing, shopping, and lunch (for your own account).

Helicopter Flight Time:	V&A Waterfront to Groot Constantia (+10 minutes) Groot Constantia back to V&A Waterfront (+10 minutes)
Ground Time:	Spend approximately 2,5 to 3 hours at Groot Constantia
Total Winelands Flight Experience:	3-4 hours in total

*Cape Town Helicopters reserves the right to bring the helicopter back to base if operationally required and we will then perform the collection from Groot Constantia at an appointed time.

Important Information

Check In Time

Please check in 30 minutes before your scheduled takeoff time. This allows us to complete weight checks, conduct the safety briefing, and issue your tickets. Once checked in, you can relax in our waiting area, capture some great pre-flight photos, and soak in the atmosphere before your adventure begins.

Photography Tip

For the best photos, we recommend wearing darker-colored clothing. Light colours, especially white, can reflect off the windows and affect your shots—so dress dark for that perfect picture! We do not have an on-site photographer.

Seating Allocation

For all sharing flights, seating is assigned based on weight and balance, which is determined during your safety briefing and ticketing. If you prefer to choose your own seats, you may book an Exclusive Flight by purchasing one additional seat—guaranteeing you the best seats in the house.

Weather

All flights are weather-dependent. If conditions are not suitable for flying, we will make every effort to reschedule your flight to the next best available time. For your comfort, please note that the temperature in the sky is the same as on the ground, so dress accordingly.
