Cape Town Aviation Facility at
Cape Town International Airport (CPT)

Cape Town Helicopters and Cape Town Aviation operate a standalone Approved Fixed Base Operator (FBO) and Maintenance Organisation (AMO) facility at Cape Town International Airport, strategically located within the general aviation precinct. For ease of access, we are the closest FBO facility to the airport terminal itself. Where time is of the essence, a less than 5-minute transfer from the airport terminal delivers you directly to your onward charter flight with us. Whether it’s an aircraft flight to your next destination or a convenient helicopter charter across the Cape, we can service most charter requirements.

This facility strengthens our company’s ability to deliver premium aviation services, combining world-class charter operations with fully integrated in-house maintenance capabilities.

Charter Services Under AOC

Operating under their Air Operator Certificate (AOC), Cape Town Aviation offers charter flights with the renowned Beechcraft King Air 200. Recognized for its versatility, range, and comfort, the King Air 200 is available for bespoke charter missions across Southern Africa. Whether for corporate, leisure, or specialised operations, the aircraft provides clients with reliable and safe regional connectivity, directly from Cape Town International Airport.

Seating up to eight guests in comfort and style, the King Air is a superb choice for your charter flight to or from Cape Town Airport, as well as to all destinations within South Africa and those beyond our borders.

In-House Maintenance for Fleet Security and Reliability

The AMO forms a central part of our facility, providing maintenance services for both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft operated by Cape Town Helicopters and Cape Town Aviation. All maintenance is performed exclusively in-house on the company’s own fleet. This ensures:

  • Enhanced Safety and Security – Aircraft remain under complete company control at all times.
  • Operational Convenience – On-site maintenance reduces downtime and maximizes aircraft availability.
  • Quality Assurance – Rigorous standards are consistently maintained to meet and exceed safety regulations.

By focusing solely on our own assets, the business maintains full oversight of operational safety while ensuring aircraft readiness for charter clients.

Strengthening Cape Town’s Aviation Hub

With this combined AMO and FBO facility, Cape Town Helicopters and Cape Town Aviation are reinforcing Cape Town International Airport’s position as a leading general aviation hub in Africa. The facility integrates operational support, charter availability, and technical expertise under one roof – offering clients an unmatched blend of efficiency, reliability, and premium service.

“Our investment into this facility reflects our commitment to operational excellence and client service,” said Peter Hammond, Deputy CEO of Cape Town Helicopters. “By combining charter operations with in-house maintenance, we can deliver the highest levels of safety, reliability, and flexibility to our clients across the region and for all experiences within the great Cape Town and area”. We certainly look forward to having you on board with us soon!
