Cape Cycle Tour
If You Don’t Ride, Why Not Fly?

This weekend Cape Town comes alive with the excitement of the Cape Cycle Tour. Thousands of cyclists join in on the route, for one of the world’s most beautiful races. From the city streets to the sweeping coastal passes, the route showcases some of the very best scenery that the Cape Peninsula has to offer.

But not everyone will be riding, and that’s perfectly okay!

For those who’d still like to experience the beauty of the route and the incredible landscapes surrounding it, Cape Town Helicopters offers a relaxed and memorable way to see it all from above. Our scenic helicopter flights give you the chance to enjoy the same coastline, mountains and bays that cyclists will be passing, just from a slightly different perspective.

Our Two Oceans Scenic Flight is a favourite for visitors and tourists alike. This flight follows the Atlantic Seaboard past Clifton and Camps Bay. It then curves around the cliffs of Chapman’s Peak and across to Hout Bay. From there the route continues over Noordhoek Beach following the coastline toward False Bay. Our Two Oceans flight offers a beautiful view of both sides of the peninsula, with the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meeting around Cape Point.

If this is your first helicopter flight, you may prefer a shorter experience. Our 12-minute Hopper Flight offers a quick but memorable introduction to the city and coastline from the air. This trip takes you from the V&A Waterfront along the Atlantic Seaboard, with splendid views of Table Mountain, Lion’s Head, Clifton and Camps Bay - a stunning snapshot of Cape Town’s famous coastline.

If you’re looking for something that covers additional aerial spots from Cape Town to the tip of the coastline, our Cape Point Peninsula flight will be your best choice. This flight offers incredible aerial views of the rugged Cape Point coastline, the winding roads that riders will be navigating, and the vast ocean surrounding the Cape.

Watching the landscape unfold from a helicopter brings a new appreciation for the scale and beauty of the Cape Cycle Tour route. Our flights are peaceful, scenic, and a wonderful way to take in the same natural beauty that makes this event so special each year.

So while the riders are pedalling their way around the peninsula, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the view from above.
